CAIRO – Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare (GAH) Ahmed El Sobky asserted the significance of promoting cooperation between Egypt and Switzerland in light of the profound, developing and flourishing relations binding the two countries.
He praised continued cooperation with Switzerland as well as assistance of the European country to enhance Egypt’s health care sector.
This came at a meeting between Sobky and Swiss Ambassador in Cairo Yvonne Baumann to discuss means of boosting cooperation in the health domain alongside sharing the know-how.
The meeting tackled a set of topics of shared interest, including modernizing hospitals through fostering digital healthcare systems, virtual hospitals along with promoting the quality of medical services at health facilities that are affiliates of the GAH.
They also discussed methods of safe management and disposal of medical waste, fostering green transition in the healthcare sector, as well as turning hospitals into green and eco-friendly ones.
Meanwhile, the Swiss ambassador hailed Egypt Strategy 2030 toward achieving a comprehensive health reform and pursuing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
She asserted Switzerland’s keenness on advancing cooperation with Egypt in the health sphere through providing technical and technological support along with exchanging expertise in the domains of digital healthcare, hospital management and medical training.
