Cairo – Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority (ETPA) Ahmed Youssef received Saturday Gloria Walker, a 56-year terminally ill cancer patient from Philadelphia, who has always dreamed of travelling to Egypt to visit the Giza Pyramids.
Welcoming the US woman and her family members, Youssef conveyed to them the greetings of Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Anani who wished her a wonderful trip and a full recovery from her illness.
Youssef also stressed the ministry’s commitment to offer all kind of support to Mrs. Walker and her family to help them enjoy their seven-day trip in Egypt, which will take them to major tourist and archaeological sites in Cairo and South Sinai.
Highlighting the humanitarian aspect of Walker’s current visit, Youssef said the woman’s wish speaks of some kind of obsession with ancient Egypt.
Walker was diagnosed with terminal cancer last year. Her son, Dustin Vitale, who made her dream known on social media, described the visit as his mother’s sole wish and lifetime dream.
