Recent Research Highlights Egypt’s Commitment to Women’s Empowerment in Business
In a significant stride towards gender equality, new research conducted by The Consultants MEA in collaboration with Kūdi—a dedicated organization promoting the personal and professional growth of women in the Middle East—illuminates the advancements of Egyptian women in leadership roles. This momentum aligns seamlessly with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which prioritizes gender equality and the empowerment of women in the workforce.
The study, which surveyed approximately 400 women in leadership across the Middle East, underscores Egypt’s increasing prominence in female entrepreneurship. As the nation intensifies its efforts to enhance female participation in business, a notable rise in women-led startups is being observed, particularly in sectors such as technology and innovation. This growth is a testament to the government’s commitment under Vision 2030 to cultivate an inclusive business ecosystem.
Kūdi aims to further this initiative by launching programs that offer mentorship, networking opportunities, and specialized training designed to empower women in their professional endeavors. The study reveals that 87% of women leaders in Egypt are actively advocating for structural changes within their organizations to foster gender inclusivity, while nearly all respondents highlighted the importance of mentorship in advancing their careers—a core focus of Kūdi’s mission.
The rise of women-led startups across various industries—including technology, e-commerce, and social enterprises—demonstrates the innovative spirit of Egyptian women and their role in transforming traditional industries. These entrepreneurs are not only driving economic growth but are also setting benchmarks for future generations.
Marise Assaf, Founder & CEO of Kūdi, stated, “As Egypt strives to achieve its Vision 2030 goals, Kūdi is committed to equipping women with the resources necessary to ascend to leadership roles. Empowering women is vital not only for economic prosperity but also for fostering sustainable growth across all sectors.”
As Egypt forges ahead on its path to gender equality, the increasing representation of women in leadership positions and the proactive efforts of organizations like Kūdi signal a promising future. By addressing the gender gap, Egypt is establishing a model for the region, reinforcing the essential role of women in shaping a more inclusive economic landscape.
