In a major push to revitalise the nation’s cultural capital, the Egyptian government has poured significant resources into breathing new life into Khedivial Cairo, one of the city’s most elegant districts.
The Egyptian government also launched events of the “Art Street” initiative in the downtown area, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr Moustafa Madbouli last week.
Governor of Cairo Dr Ibrahim Saber lauded the initiative and indicated that it transforms capitals streets into precious open-air theatres embrace creative people and offers high-quality art free of charge to passersby in the city centre.
Saber also urged that political leadership is committed with the progress of arts and culture of Cairo government with the strong solidarity between the Ministry of Culture, represented by the Academy of Arts, and the Cairo Governorate, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 to support sustainable cultural development and revitalise domestic tourism.
