CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Hanno, witnessed celebration organized by Egyptian ambassador to Jordan Mohamed Samir to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of July 23 Revolution, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Embassy in Jordan, in the presence of a number of diplomats and guests from the Egyptian and Jordanian sides.
In a statement, the ministry said, the minister of Culture congratulated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and all Egyptians on this occasion.
“The great revolution of July 23 brought about a qualitative shift in Egypt’s march and left its mark on the nation’s history,” said the minister.
Hanno stressed that the July 23 Revolution was not just a political revolution, but rather a cultural one, that helped in spreading awareness and developing thought as a basic drive for its renaissance project.
“As we celebrate the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution, we recall with pride and reverence achievements of the July 23 and June 30 revolutions and their virtue in spreading culture and knowledge, establishing many cultural institutions, supporting artists and intellectuals, encouraging them to be creative and expressing hopes of Egyptian people and their ambitions.” according to the minister.
Hanno concluded his statement by saying, “We affirm our determination to move forward towards the path of progress and prosperity, to achieve all hopes and aspirations of the Egyptian State in building cultural awareness, strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional cultural hub and protecting our identity.”
