CAIRO – Egyptian Culture Minister Inas Andel Dayem launched celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of establishing Al Talea Theatre which represents a major soft power in formulating the society’s awareness and has played an effective role in enriching the Egyptian theatrical movement.
In a ceremony held on Sunday night at Al Talea Theatre in central Cairo, Abdel Dayem said this falls within the framework of a strategy aiming to get the new generations to know about such ancient cultural edifice, referring to its key role in the theatrical history of Egypt.
Over six decades, the theatre has presented remarkable artistic works, she said, noting that the theater will re-display a number of its famous shows within the framework of the celebrations which will last during the year.
A galaxy of theatre directors including Director Khaled Galal, Head of Al Talea Theatre Adel Hassan, directors of a number of theatrical troupes as well as theatrical actors and practitioners attended the ceremony.
