“Utterly false” is how Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities described reports that pharaonic coffins had been taken to Israel for tomographic examination.
“No artefacts have been taken out of Egypt for examination or study,” said Moamen Othman, head of the museums sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
All media outlets and social media users should assess the validity of reports before publication or broadcast or contact the ministry’s hotline 19654, he added.
