Within the framework of the activities of the cultural relations initiative, a symposium entitled “Egypt Cyprus .. Cultural Relations” was held yesterday at the Supreme Council of Culture.
The symposium hosted the Ambassador of Cyprus to Egypt Homer Mafromatis, the former ambassador of Egypt to Cyprus Mai Khalil, Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Non-Governmental Organisation Affairs and a group of intellectuals interested in the Egyptian-Cypriot relations.
Minister of Culture Enas Abdel-Dayem confirmed that the symposium comes in light of the common orientation of Egypt and Cyprus and their keenness to support and enhance the various aspects of co-operation between them.
The minister said that the cultural relations initiative sheds light on the creative aspects in the countries of the world that have friendship ties with Egypt.
The minister also noted that the initiative is one of the distinctive models of partnership between national state institutions, as it is carried out in coordination between the Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs.
