The Ambassador of Mexico to Egypt, Ms. Leonora Rueda Gutiérrez, on February 18, held a meeting with Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, to hand over a distinguished collection of heritage books from Mexico.
The event marked a heartfelt exchange of knowledge, history, and culture between two nations united by their deep respect for heritage and education.
The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of 32 remarkable publications that delve into the richness of Mexican history, culture, and heritage.
Ambassador Leonora Rueda described the initiative as “a testament to Mexico’s belief in the power of cultural diplomacy.”
She emphasised that culture has the unique ability to transcend borders, bridge divides, and kindle meaningful relationships between nations. She added that cultural exchange is a cornerstone of mutual understanding and cooperation between people across the globe.
Dr. Zayed, in turn, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the contribution. He underscored the pivotal role of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina as an epicenter of knowledge and intercultural dialogue. He praised the initiative, saying it highlights the importance of collaborations that deepen ties and ignite scholarly exploration between both countries.
The Embassy of Mexico in Egypt reaffirmed in a statement its dedication to fostering meaningful exchanges, vowing to continue initiatives aimed at promoting cultural and academic collaboration.
