The celebration, organised by the Theatre Sector and held at the Hanager Arts Centre in Cairo’s Opera House complex, honouredveterans of the October 1973 war alongside prominent Egyptian artists.

The event also featured the presentation of awards for the eighth edition of the “Ana Al-Masry” national song competition for young talents.

In her speech, Minister of Culture Gihane Zaki paid tribute to the armed forces veterans, describing them as national icons who shaped history and restored Egypt’s dignity. She noted that their sacrifices continue to guide the country’s ongoing efforts in development and cultural awareness.

Zaki also highlighted the role of culture in preserving national memory and strengthening public awareness, emphasizing that artistic and cultural work complements the legacy of the armed forces and helps convey it to future generations.
