PARIS/CANNES — In a new reflection of its growing cultural and diplomatic presence on the international stage, Egypt was crowned for the first time with the title of “Country of Honour” during the ceremony of the “A Better World for Humanity” Foundation, held on the sidelines of the Cannes International Film Festival in southern France.
The distinction highlighted international appreciation for Egypt’s pioneering role, soft power, and influential contribution to supporting humanitarian causes, MENA reported.
The ceremony took place at Copal Beach along La Croisette promenade in Cannes, under the patronage and attendance of Egypt’s Ambassador to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO Ambassador Tarek Dahroug and his spouse Aliaa el Seirafy.
The event was organised by the “A Better World for Humanity” Foundation in co-operation with the global “Hope Givers” campaign, and drew a high-profile international audience of diplomats, film stars, and cinema industry figures.
