On the evening of March 20, 2025, classical music enthusiasts are in for a spectacular treat as the Japan Foundation, Cairo celebrates its 30th anniversary with a grand gala concert. In collaboration with the Cairo Opera Orchestra, this musical extravaganza will feature a lineup of renowned soloists and beloved compositions, promising an evening of cultural harmony and melodic brilliance.
The concert will take place at 9:30 PM in the Main Hall of the Cairo Opera House, under the baton of the esteemed Maestro Mohamed Saad Basha. The diverse programme features works by iconic composers including Ludwig van Beethoven, Pablo Sarasate, Claude Debussy, Béla Bartók, Vincenzo Bellini, and Camille Saint-Saëns.
Highlighting the evening will be violin soloist Mina Aoki-Girardelli, an accomplished musician from Japan known for her dynamic and expressive performances. Raised in a rich blend of cultures from Japan, Italy, and Turkey, Aoki-Girardelli brings a unique musical sensibility to the global classical stage. Her impressive résumé boasts notable performances at prestigious venues such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Festival Hall, and her commitment to engaging younger audiences with classical music has distinguished her as a rising star in her field.
Joining Aoki-Girardelli on stage are several esteemed Egyptian soloists: harpist Ms. Toaa Harb, oboist Ms. Noha Samy, and violinist Mr. Malek Abo Arab, who will showcase their talents in a celebration of cross-cultural collaboration.
