Located on the Mediterranean coast where white sands meet the crystal-clear blue waters, the city of Alamein will host its second annual festival from July 11 to August 30.
Almost 60 per cent of the festival’s revenues will be dedicated to Palestinians in Gaza, according to United Media Services Company, the organiser of the event.
The Palestinian flag will be raised throughout the event alongside the Egyptian flag, the company said.
This lively festival will feature a diverse range of activities that merge art, culture, sports, and entertainment, set against a scenic background of tourism, resulting in a uniquely captivating atmosphere.
The attendees can experience an array of festivities divided into five categories: Music and Theatre Festival, the Food Festival, the Sports Festival, the Entertainment Festival, and the Children’s Festival.
There is also a rich programme that consists of about 10 concerts, featuring renowned Egyptian and Arab artists, along with captivating music performances.
From culinary experiences and entertainment spectacles to sports competitions like volleyball and basketball, attendees can also partake in a range of activities tailored for individuals with special needs.
The participation of folk art groups representing various Egyptian regions will showcase the rich heritage of these cities and provinces.
The festival will feature special activities designedfor children and a curated exhibition highlighting traditional crafts.
Attendees can also look forward to captivating performances, such as Leila el-Kebeira, Arajoz, and shadow plays.
The organisers have shown their enthusiasm for supporting the state’s initiative to optimise energy consumption, combining solar energy with backup generators to power most daytime festival activities.
The El Alamein Festival exemplifies the Egyptian government’s dedication to developing the new city of Alamein into a distinctive cultural and tourism destination.
The goal is to attract visitors from around the world and bolster Egypt’s reputation on the global tourism scene.
The organisers have announced that this year’s event will be entirely unique compared to the first one.
This follows the completion of various services in the coastal city which has evolved into a sought-after entertainment hub for both local and international visitors, standing as a notable achievement of the New Republic.
In the past summer season, Alamein city welcomed over 1 million visitors.
This city belongs to the fourth generation of modern cities and has similarities with the New Administrative Capital in terms of its ambitious global projects.
