BENHA/Egypt – Youth and sports projects have been witnessing unprecedented development, thanks to the political leadership’s support, Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi said Saturday.
The minister made the remarks during the opening ceremony of a youth center in Qalubiya Governorate’s Kafr Shebin township, after it had been upgraded as part of the presidential “Decent Life” rural development initiative.
He noted that the ministry is working on improving the efficiency of youth and sports centers nationwide, while increasing the number of projects and programs carried out at these centers to enhance the skills and abilities of young people, and promote their awareness about various challenges.
He also highlighted the initiative’s important role in enhancing the services and infrastructure of these centers.
Sobhi initiated his tour by inaugurating the center’s parliament chamber where he attended part of a parliamentary session during which young MPs submitted interpellations to government executives concerned with health, national security, youth and sports, supply and internal trade issues.
Sobhi also inspected a handicraft exhibition for people with disabilities, which was organized by the “Qadroun Bekhtlaf” – (Differently Able) initiative.
The minister concluded his tour by participating in an event organized by the center’s cultural club.
Meanwhile, Qalubiya Governor Abdel Hamid El Haggan stressed that the governorate spares no effort to support the presidential initiative, adding all executive bodies are doing their best to ensure the provision of better services in rural areas
