CAIRO- Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi said that Egypt is ready to host the 26th edition of the CAHB African Men’s Championship that will be staged in Cairo from January 17 to 27, 2024.
The event serves as qualification event for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In a statement on Monday, the minister said that upon President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives and his support and continuous follow-up of the youth and sports file, Egypt has become in an unprecedented global position, whether in terms of hosting international sports tournaments and forums.
Egypt has achieved champions in various competitions, thanks to the availability of sports infrastructure with international specifications in the country, the minister said.
As part of preparations for hosting the tournament, the Handball Federation, headed by Mohamed El Amin, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the African Championship, met with the heads of the committees and leaders of the Youth and Sports Ministry to discuss all arrangements in this regard.
