Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel-Aati, and Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, signed on Thursday a co-operation protocol for the “Your Treatment in Egypt” initiative, aimed at serving Egyptians residing abroad.
The initiative comes as per the directives of the political leadership to look after the health and well-being of Egyptians expatriates and provide them with comprehensive medical care, the Health Ministry said in a statement.
It added that the two ministers emphasised, during the signing ceremony, that the initiative represents a major advancement in offering distinguished medical and treatment services in Egypt for Egyptian expatriates.
The initiative includes an integrated system that facilitates access to accredited hospitals and medical centres, available specialties, online appointment booking, and remote consultations before travel, simplifying procedures and saving citizens time and effort.
They added that the protocol strengthens institutional co-operation between the two ministries to ensure organised, safe, and accessible healthcare for Egyptian expatriates.
It also reflects Egypt’s advanced medical capabilities following recent investments and developments in the healthcare system, and encourages Egyptians living overseas to seek treatment in their homeland, and benefit from high-quality services at affordable costs while reinforcing their connection to Egypt.
