Egypt’s President of the National Council for Women (NCW) Maya Morsy said the Climate Leaders Program is a unique initiative that keeps pace with global developments.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the program, organized Saturday by the council in cooperation with Youth Leader Foundation (YLF) and sponsored by Telecom Egypt, Morsy expressed pleasure at a dream that came true when young people have become climate leaders with their innovative projects and ideas.

She commended the role of YLF, noting that the foundation is going to maintain its role in Sharm El Sheikh, the venue of the upcoming global summit (COP27) expected in November, even after the summit is over.

Morsy invited UN climate change high-level champion for Egypt Mahmoud Mohieldin to get acquainted with the innovative ideas proposed by young people to deal with climate change.

Out of the 205 persons who applied for the program’s competition, only eight came out winners from the fifty shortlisted teams that have submitted sustainable smart green ideas in three categories, namely student activity, preliminary ideas and models, and startups.
