Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad and head of the Regional Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Abdallah al-Dardari and Resident Representative of the UNDP in Egypt Alessandro Fracassetti on Wednesday discussed the future of the partnership with the UNDP to support environmental investment.
The minister said in a statement yesterday that the UNDP is the main partner in the development of the environment sector in Egypt through various facilities to support environment policies.
The UNDP has been instrumental in the many achievements in this field in recent years including the launch sustainable transport in co-operation between the programme and the ministry.
The minister asserted the importance of linking the climate, biological diversity and desertification and the role of the UNDP in developing a group of policies to face those three challenges.
