Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation el-Sayed el-Qoseir on Wednesday met with senior officials of a Russian agricultural seed and fertiliser company.
The minister spoke of the government’s interest in creating a suitable environment for foreign investment.
The minister and the Russian delegation discussed incentives and facilities offered by the government to encourage local and foreign investors to expand their projects nationwide.
El-Qoseir said his ministry is fully ready to co-operate with the Russian side in seed production, which is one of the main factors in increasing productivity and achieving food security.
The Russian delegation expressed their company’s readiness to co-operate with Egypt in the production of sunflower seeds, corn and soybeans.
The Russian side said that they are eager to establish a fertiliser factory in Egypt.
