Minister of Agriculture el-Sayed el-Qoseir held talks yesterday with Chadian Minister for Livestock and Animal Production Abderahim Awat Atteib on means to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
El-Quseir referred to presidential directives to offer continued support to African countries.
El-Qoseir also spoke of Chad’s animal wealth of which the benefit can be maximised by supporting veterinary medicine, accrediting slaughterhouses and promoting high-quality fodder industry.
Egypt and Chad can cooperate in dairy production, the minister said, adding that Egypt can export vaccines to Chad.
For his part, the Chadian minister lauded the agricultural progress in Egypt, noting that there are several obstacles to the development of the animal sector in Chad, including climate change and overgrazing.
