CAIRO – The women empowerment file has witnessed an unprecedented boom over the past nine years, said Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Abroad Soha Gendi.
The political leadership believes that empowering women is a “national duty”, said the minister, adding that Egypt’s experience in women’s empowerment has become a source of global admiration and praise.
Gendi’s remarks were made during her meeting with CEO and Founder of Founder of Art Today Sherine Badr to discuss the ministry’s participation in the forum of “Empowering women through art”, according to a statement issued by the ministry on Friday.
During the meeting, the minister said that the forum represents a perfect opportunity in enhancing cultural tourism in Egypt.
The minister, meanwhile, said that art serves as a bridge between cultures, bringing people closer together.
