There is no way to accelerate the transfer to the renewable energy systems unless the woman is qualified enough, said President of the National Council for Women (NCW) Maya Morsi.
On her Facebook page on the occasion of “Energy Day”, which is held as part of proceedings of the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference, COP27, Morsi said that women make up nearly less than a quarter of the global renewable energy workforce.
Morsi, meanwhile, said that nearly a third of women’s work worldwide is in agriculture sphere.
Almost 40 per cent of the agricultural workforce in 46 out of 53 African countries are women, she went on to noted.
Seventy per cent of the continent’s food is produced by women, she further said.
