Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Monday said Egypt has achieved remarkable progress in the process of healthcare reform, namely eradicating Hepatitis C and adopting the Universal Health Insurance System (UHIS).
He made the remarks on the sidelines of his participation in the 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean “Walk the Talk”, which is currently taking place at the WHO Regional Office in Cairo.
Ghebreyesus thanked Egypt for hosting the 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean.
Meanwhile, Head of the UHIS Ahmed el Sobky expressed appreciation over hosting the 70th meeting of WHO regional committee, highlighting that Egypt is an exceptional replicable model for eradicating the Hepatitis C in a record time.
