Director General of World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom congratulated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian government on launching a national project for human development under the rubric “New Beginning to Build the Egyptian Human Being”.
During his participation in the launch of “Bedaya” initiative for human development, Adhanom said that the initiative reflects a comprehensive and full vision at all the levels whether political or security in addition to economic, social and national development to swiftly achieve human development.
He said that the initiative would have a great impact in the different domains as it reflects the cooperation and integration of the Egyptian government, adding that the initiative needs strong cooperation between the governmental bodies, NGOs and the private sector to serve the community, improve health and education and protect the society.
The initiative focuses on empowering women and youth to achieve the aimed development, he said, adding that investment in the health sector is not only to protect lives but it also contributes to achieving economic development via creating suitable work environment that helps promote creativity and production and provide real protection for the next generations.
