Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir participated in the celebration marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance.
Wazir attended the event on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. It was held in the Chinese capital, Beijing, and attended by a large number of heads of state and heads of delegations from various countries.
According to an official statement released on Wednesday, the minister attended the grand military parade held in Tiananmen Square—famously known as the “Heavenly Square” in the heart of Beijing – which featured thousands of soldiers and hundreds of advanced Chinese weapons.
A commemorative photo was taken of the participating heads of state, government leaders, and delegations alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife.
Wazir also took part in the official reception hosted by the Chinese president in honor of the participating dignitaries.
Additionally, he attended a cultural performance held as part of the series of Chinese celebratory events.
Wazir conveyed president Sisi’s congratulations to President Xi Jinping on this occasion, along with his wishes for continued progress and prosperity for China and its people.
He also affirmed president Sisi’s directives to strengthen and deepen bilateral relations with China in all fields, emphasizing the significance and strength of Egyptian-Chinese relations, which have reached the level of a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” since 2014.
He highlighted the signing of the Executive Program for the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two friendly countries for the five-year period (2024–2028), which took place in January 2024.
This agreement serves as a roadmap for developing bilateral relations and elevating them to a higher level, building on tangible achievements made over the past years.
Additionally, the two countries will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.
