CAIRO – Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Cairo Nicole Shampaine said Monday that her country will remain a strong partner of Egypt and will take part with a major delegation in COP27 due to be held in November in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
Shampaine’s statements came during the inauguration of an international conference on chances of alternative finance in Egypt to fund sustainable development held in cooperation between USAID and the Egyptian ministries of planning and finance.
The US diplomat said her country invested during decades of partnership between Cairo and Washington about 80 billion dollars, 30 billion in economic development while the rest headed to national defense.
She added the coming period would witness a large number of activities between the US and Egypt especially in the green economy and economic development.
The US diplomat pointed out that Egypt and the United States cooperate in many fields as part of partnership, pointing that the United States supports Egypt’s ambitious development goals.
