Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy said “the upcoming stage calls for greater efforts to serve the homeland,” emphasizing the need to continue improving and modernizing the national civil aviation industry.
Abbas was speaking during his first meeting with the ministry’s senior officials and heads of affiliated bodies and holding companies, in the presence of former Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Manar, to discuss the main features of the sector’s ongoing as well as future projects.

He also underlined the need for improving the sector’s human resources as the most important element of a comprehensive development advancement process.
Abbas also stressed the importance of meeting the deadlines airport development projects nationwide, while maintaining the efforts under way to modernize airport security systems, upgrade the fleet of national flag carrier “EgyptAir,” expand the company’s flight network, and enhance passenger services.
