The United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, toured on Sunday parts of the Egyptian-Sudanese borders accompanied by Aswan Governor Ashraf Atiya alongside UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt Elena Panova.
The visit aims to get first hand information on services offered by the UN agencies in Egypt in collaboration with bodies and ministries concerned as well the Egyptian Red Crescent since the eruption of the Sudanese crisis.
The UN commissioner and Aswan governor checked on the makeshift clinics and stationed ambulances tasked with undergoing examination on the Sudanese displaced persons at the quarantine clinics to verify any infectious diseases, according to a statement issued by Aswan governorate.
They, also, visited medical centers affiliated with the Red Crescent, UNICEF, as well as other local and international institutions, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the governor reviewed medical services offered at the three crossings of Argeen, Kostel and Wadi Karkar.
