SHARM EL SHEIKH – UAE’s Minister of State for Youth Affairs Shamma Al Mazrui hailed Egypt as “the heart for all Arabs and our second homeland”.

She expressed thanks to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for his invitation to take part in the 4th edition of the World Youth Forum that kicked off on Monday and will run till January 13.

Mazrui made the remarks as part of a speech she delivered at the main session of the forum under the title “Covid-19 Pandemic: Warning for Humanity & A New Hope”.

Egypt has a special position in the hearts of Emiratis, she said, recalling the words said by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan about Egypt when he said, “Egypt’s renaissance is that of the entire Arab nation.”

Meanwhile, the Emirati minister described the coronavirus pandemic as an opportunity to alter what was thought to be normal or a fait accompli, noting in this regard that the pandemic has proven that everything is changeable.

She added that her country’s policy in dealing with the pandemic was based on challenging the fait accompli as well as relevant traditional methods.
