CAIRO – UAE Economy Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri lauded on Thursday Egypt’s proposal to set up an Egyptian agency for drugs, saying such a suggestion will contribute to enhancing inter-Arab co-operation in the drugs manufacturing domain.
The minister made the remarks during the opening session of the 114th Arab Economic and Social Council.
The minister expressed thanks to Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit for the well organisation of the current session that is being held at a critical stage in light of the challenges and economic crises facing the Arab world.
The Arab region is passing through continued geopolitical tensions given the Arab-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip that places more burdens and creates many challenges, which require more inter-Arab co-operation in face of these challenges, he said.
He reiterated readiness of the UAE to co-operate with brotherly Arab countries to achieve economic and social integration.
