ANKARA – The Turkish Sabah newspaper considered the official visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Egypt as a testament to the major development in bilateral ties.
The paper added that this development would mark new development as the Middle East region is pivotal for the Turkish foreign policy, especially security policies in Syria and Iraq.
The paper added that Egypt is a key player in the Arab world and has a major intellectual and political role.
The paper highlighted the historic ties between Egypt and Turkey, adding that leaders of both countries highly appreciate bilateral relations.
The paper highlighted Erdogan’s efforts to diversify potential co-operation domains with Egypt, especially enhancing cooperation in security issues and the Palestinian cause.
The paper said Egypt and Turkey can have common interests with regard to the Palestinian cause as both countries support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in addition to coordination for sending humanitarian aid to Gaza.
