The Turkish Foreign Ministry welcomed on Thursday the Gaza ceasefire deal clinched between Hamas and Israel, lauding the mediation efforts exerted by Egypt and Qatar.
In a statement on Thursday, the ministry expressed gratitude for all mediating countries, especially Egypt and Qatar.
The ministry underlined the importance of full implementation of the agreement in order to ensure a permanent ceasefire, highlighting the necessity of handing over urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The ministry accentuated that the international community should guarantee that Israel would meet its responsibilities in this respect.
The ministry said perpetual peace and stability in the Middle East can never be attained without realizing peace in Palestine and ending the suffering of the Palestinians.
The ministry called for an immediate launch of peace talks to establish an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem (Al Quds) as its capital.
The ministry underlined Ankara’s support for the Palestinians.
