Egyptian Minister of Transport Kamel el-Wazir visited on Thursday the Training Centre of the Tokyo Metro Company, established in 1962 and met with a number of officials in the company, according to a statement by the ministry.
The Tokyo Metro is a major rapid transit system in Tokyo, Japan, operated by the Tokyo Metro Company. While it is not the only rapid transit system operating in Tokyo, it has the higher ridership among the two subway operators: in 2014, the Tokyo Metro had an average daily ridership of 6.84 million passengers, while the other system, the Toei Subway, had 2.85 million average daily rides.
The ministry added that the CEO of the Tokyo Metro Company affirmed the company will make all maintenance works required to upgrade the second line of the Cairo Metro.
The two sides also probed the possibility that Tokyo Metro Company will run, operate and develop the fourth line of the underground in partnership with Japan’s Mitsubishi Motors, the statement said.
