ALEXANDRIA – Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel el-Wazir inspected on Sunday development and service projects at Dekheila port as well Tahya Misr multi-purpose terminal at Alexandria harbor.
The move coms as part his inspection tours of projects carried out by the Transport Ministry across the nation.
The minister inspected the dry bulk station at Dekheila port that aims at setting up a 1,150-metre-long-berth with a back deck of 300,000 m2 and depth of 15 metres to receive four 240-metre-long ships each. The quay will have a capacity of 6 to 7 million tonnes per year.
Wazir also inspected the multi-purpose station which is being built by a private company at Berth 100 of the port. The project aims to develop Egypt’s ports and maximise the benefits of its strategic geographical location.
