DOHA – Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel el-Wazir and Qatari officials discussed on Monday ways to activate transport partnerships, especially maritime transportation and using eco-friendly public transport.
Wazir met Qatari Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and Egypt’s Ambassador in Doha Amr El Sherbini, the Transport Ministry said in a statement.
Wazir reviewed Egypt’s comprehensive plan to establish eco-friendly transportation means, pointing to the completion of Cairo Metro lines, monorail project and LRT project.
The minister also convened with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani as they tackled boosting partnership and investments in the transport domain.
He also toured Qatar Rail, which is responsible for designing, constructing, operating and maintenance of the entire railway network in Qatar.
