The Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir attended on Tuesday ceremony for inking a document of the main conditions of management and operation of the three lines of express electric train whose length is 2000 kilometres between National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) and the German railway company of Deutsche Bahn and Elsewedy Electric.
This comes to pave the way to the final contract to manage and operate the train for a renewable 15-year period.
Wazir asserted that inking the document comes within the framework of the plan to expand cooperation with the private sector and benefit from the expertise of the global companies in the field of management and operation of the modern transport projects.
The agreement includes transferring the expertise and qualifying and training Egyptian engineers and technicians, he said.
Contracting with the German company to manage and operate the express electric train is an important step in this field as Deutsche Bahn company is one of the pioneering companies in the world in the field of operating and maintaining railways.
