CAIRO – Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel el-Wazir discussed on Monday with Managing Director of France’s VINCI Construction Grands Projects Patrick Kadri implementation rates of the three parts of the third phase of Cairo Metro Line 3, which are 3A, 3B, and 3C.
During their meeting, Wazir stressed the importance of to adhering to high-quality standards while implementing the third phase of Line 3, intensifying equipment at the sites and working around the clock, as well as holding periodic meetings in the coming period between officials of VINCI and the National Authority for Tunnels to speed up the completion of the third line.
The first part (3A) has a total length of four kilometers and stretches from Attaba to El Kit Kat. It includes four underground stations (Nasser – Maspero – Safaa Hegazy – El Kit Kat).
The second part (3B) is 6.6 kilometres in length, extending from El Kit Kat to the final station at Rod El Farag Axis. It includes six stations (underground station: El Sudan, four elevated stations: Imbaba – El Bohy – El Qawmia El Arabia and the Ring Road and an at-ground level station: the final station at Rod El Farag Axis. It will be inaugurated in June 2022.
The third part (3C), whose total length is 7.1 kilometers, extends from El Kit Kat to Cairo University station. It includes five stations (three underground stations: El Tawfikia – Wadi El Nile – Gameat El Dewal, elevated station: Cairo University and at-ground level station: Boulak El Dakrour. It is scheduled to be inaugurated in April 2023.
