The Egyptian Environment Minister Yassmin Fouad urged everyone to change the wrong conception that transition into green economy hinders growth operation, adding that transition to green economy can lead to direct economic gains that are worth 26 trillion dollars until 2030 and provide more than 65 million low-carbon new jobs.

This came during the participation of Fouad in the inauguration of the “Solutions Day” held as part of COP 27.

Fouad termed climate change as the most difficult crisis in the century that makes the humanity vulnerable to several repercussions.

Fouad asserted the keenness of the Egyptian presidency of the conference to hold a full day for solutions with the participation of all parties.

The day will witness launching a number of initiatives such as sustainable cities to maintain the balance between decarbonization and adaptation, she pointed out.

Fouad asserted the keenness of the Egyptian presidency of the event to work with all parties to put the slogan of “together for implementation” into action.

The African continent will witness huge social and economic change by 2050 as the population is expected to increase from 1.2 billion to 2.5 billion, she said.
