Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir praised the great efforts exerted by the Egyptian export council in achieving good growth rates during 2022 despite the challenges of the global economic crisis, noting that the ministry was keen on boosting and localizing several industries to decrease the country’s imports’ bill.
This came during the minister’s meeting with heads of the export councils of textiles and weaving, medical industries, printing, furniture and packaging. The meeting aimed at discussing the plan of action of promoting the Egyptian exports and resolving the problems facing exporters.
Samir said that this meeting is part of a series of get-togethers to get briefed on the prospected growth rates of the exporting sector in the current year compared with the previous year.
He asserted that the ministry and its affiliate bodies are fully ready to offer all technical support to manufacturers and exporters in order to improve their businesses and enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian products and exports.
Samir also noted that the Ministry is keen on constantly contacting the exporters’ community to agree on the development plans of the sector that could further increase the volume of Egyptian exports and open up new markets.
