Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir has participated in the 39th ministerial session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Co-operation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), which was held in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
The Egyptian delegation included Minister Plenipotentiary Hazem Zaki, the deputy assistant minister of foreign affairs, and acting head of the economic and commercial office at the Egyptian Consulate in Istanbul Hossam Negm, and First Secretary at the consulate Sherif Zahran.
Samir took part in the official opening ceremony of the COMCEC’s 39th ministerial session that was inaugurated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement on Monday.
On the fringes of the session, the Egyptian trade minister held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Omer Bolat on ways to foster economic cooperation between the two countries in various trade, industrial and investment fields.
The meeting also touched on the developments of the global economic situation, in addition to a number of topics and files of common interest.
