Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Neveen Gamea conferred on Monday with her Qatari counterpart Mohamed bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani on means of developing joint economic co-operation and benefiting from the vast potentials of both countries.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Gamea said the meeting covered the importance of bolstering the two countries’ relations through enhancing trade, industrial and investment projects, extending an invitation to the Qatari companies to invest in the Egyptian market and utilize its vast potentials in the production and service sectors.
The meeting also covered the latest developments in the economic situation worldwide as well as a set of issues of common interest, according to the statement.
The two ministers also addressed an agreement on reforming the joint Egyptian-Qatari Business Council so as to contribute to upgrading economic cooperation and integration as well as involving the private sector in both countries to increase the volume of investments and joint trade in the coming phase.
Egypt’s Ambassador to Qatar Amr El Sherbini, Head of the Trade Representative Office Minister Plenipotentiary Yehia Al Wathiq Bellah as well as Trade Minister’s Adviser for Constitutional Liaison Hatem El Ashri attended the meeting.
