Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir on Saturday maintained the ban imposed on the export of oxygen for a year as of July 15, except with the approval of the Ministry of Health.
An official decree will be published in the Gazette.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Trade, the minister said the move comes in line with the state’s comprehensive plan to ensure citizens and secure the needs of hospitals and medical institutions of oxygen.
Meanwhile, Head of the expenditures and external trade sector Amany El Wesal said the Ministry of Health has underscored the necessity of maintaining the ban, with a view to securing the strategic stock of liquefied oxygen.
