CAIRO – Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Ahmed Samir had talks via video conference with South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda and Chairman of the Federation Of Egyptian Industries (FEI) Mohamed Sewedy.
The talks tackled means of developing the industrial zone in Abu Zeneima in South Sinai, thus contributing to the production of factories in the zone in order to meet the needs of the local market and boost exportation.
In a statement on Sunday, Samir asserted that the ministry spares no effort to support development.
He underlined the importance of boosting marble exportation, noting that the volume of marble exports hit 2.7 million tons.
For his part, Fouda said Abu Zeneima industrial zone is one of the most important industrial zones in light of having key minerals, including marble and manganese.
The zone will contribute to securing about 20,000 jobs, boosting exports and providing hard currency, he added.
