Egypt’s Trade Minister Ahmed Samir had talks with his trade counterparts Rebecca Miano of Kenya, Jean Chrysostome Ngabitsinze of Rwanda and Souleymane Diarrassouba of Ivory Coast on means of promoting economic co-operation.
In a statement on Wednesday, Samir also held meetings with Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, Ambassor Albert M. Muchanga, Commissioner for Trade and Industry of the African Union Commission, and Pamela Cooke Hamilton, Executive director of the International Trade Center.
Samir underlined during his talks the importance of expediting the activation of the AfCFTA.
He reviewed means of boosting trade exchange with Kenya, Rwanda and Cote d’Ivoire.
