CAIRO – Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Nevin Gamea stressed on Tuesday the political leadership pays great attention to spurring different economic sectors to adopt terms of digital transformation and the fourth industrial revolution.
Gamea was speaking during her participation in a discussion panel, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in the presence of International Cooperation Minister Rania Al-Mashat and Director and UNIDO Representative of Egypt Regional Office Bassel el Khatib.
Gamea affirmed the importance of science, technology, and innovation for creating a stimulating environment that supports excellence and localizes technology.
The Trade and Industry Ministry adopted a comprehensive vision on coping up with the digital transformation and fourth industrial revolution, the minister said, noting the vision asserts the necessity of unifying efforts of ministries and related civil society institutions to draw out the national strategy for the fourth industrial revolution.
The State had several opportunities and potentials that qualify it for entering the fourth industrial revolution that includes the emergence of a new generation of the Egyptian youth who can conquer foreign markets by their apps and products, she added.
