Egypt’s Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled el-Anani and Minister of Communications and Information Technology (ICT) Amr Talaat had a plenary meeting on Tuesday to follow up on raising the internet speed in tourist facilities nationwide, particularly in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh.
This measure is taken in preparation for the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the UNFCCC, set for Sharm el-Sheikh in November.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the work that has been achieved on the ground on this score.
They also discussed means of surmounting obstacles facing some hotel facilities in connecting high-speed fiber-optic cables and coming up with the necessary solutions in this regard.
