KUWAIT CITY – Egypt was selected the most popular tourist places by Kuwaitis who flocked abroad to spend a joyous holiday during the Kuwait’s National and Liberation Days, which are observed annually on February 25 and 26 respectively.
Aviation companies in Kuwait are seeing extremely strong demand in the different Egypt destinations.
In exclusive statements to MENA on Wednesday, Director of EgyptAir’s regional office in Kuwait Mohamed Sanad said that all trips from Kuwait to the Egyptian cities have witnessed a high turnout over the past period.
All the trips from January until March 1 are fully-booked, he said, noting that Kuwaitis are looking to Egypt as their primary holiday destination.
After the recent tragic earthquake which hit Turkey, the Egyptian airports became more safe as a tourist destination, he went on to say.
For his part, tourist expert Kamal Kabsha told MENA said that Cairo and Istanbul were among the top tourist destinations for the Kuwaiti tourist in order to spend the national day holidays.
Such trips were diverted from Istanbul to the Egyptian cities, after the devastating earthquake which hit Turkey.
Due to the national day celebrations in Kuwait, the airline ticket price hiked by more than 200 percent to several destinations, he said, noting that the ticket price to London reached about dlrs 2,550 if compared to dlrs 621 during the regular days.
