Egypt’s inbound tourism recorded remarkable growth, with arrivals rising by 20.5 per cent in 2025 compared to 2024. The upward trend has continued into 2026, as the first four months of the year saw a 7 per cent increase, welcoming 6.1 million tourists compared to 5.7 million during the same period last year.
Egypt currently attracts visitors from 179 countries, supported by tailored promotional strategies for each market. The government has set an ambitious target of drawing 30 million tourists annually by 2030.
The Times of London recently praised Egypt as a “wonderful destination at affordable prices,” highlighting the friendliness and cooperation of its people. The newspaper noted that few countries can match Egypt’s surge in popularity, with the nation consistently topping sales charts according to Advantage Travel Partnership, a UK-based network of independent travel agencies. Annual reports from Post Office Travel Money also rank Red Sea resorts among the best-value destinations.
Tourists are flocking to Cairo, especially after the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in November 2025, which showcases 7,000 years of history. Other iconic attractions include the Pyramids in Giza, Nile cruises to Aswan, the Mediterranean charm of Alexandria, and diving adventures in the Red Sea.
