CAIRO – Egypt’s Prosecutor General Hamada El Sawy ordered on Monday to step up investigations into the killing of a female student, Nayra, in front of the gates of Manousra University.
Nayra died of multiple knife stabs to the neck and chest.
The killer, a student of the university, was arrested red handed and the knife he used in his crime was seized by police.
A team of the Public Prosecution moved to the crime scene and seized the records of the university’s security cameras.
The Public Prosecution said in a statement it interrogated two of the university’s security guards, who said the accused had assaulted the victim.
It urged the public not to circulate fake videos or news about the incident on social media platforms.
