CAIRO – Senior commanders of the Egyptian Armed Forces held a series of bilateral meetings during the opening day of the fourth International Defence Exhibition and Conference (EDEX 2025).
The meetings were held on the sidelines of the exhibition.
They involved discussions with military leaders and representatives of participating defense companies to enhance cooperation with the armed forces of friendly and partner countries.
Commander of the Egyptian Navy Mahmoud Adel Fawzy met with Commander of the Istanbul Naval Shipyard Erdinç Yetkin, Head of the Italian Non-commissioned Officers Promotion Evaluation Commission Marco Tomassetti, Director of Government Relations and Senior Advisor to the Chairman of Navantia Javier Romero Camarillo, Commander of the Djiboutian Coast Guard Wais Omar Bogoreh, CEO of Lockheed Martin USA James Benson Hedges, and Chairman of Thales Pascal Suarez.

Commander of the Air Force Amr Abdel-Rahman Saqr held talks with Secretary-General of the UAE Defense Balance Council Nasser Al-Nuaimi, the Vice Chairman of the Russian Federal Technical Military Cooperation Authority, Deputy Director of the Chinese Weapons and Equipment Development Authority Yang Jieqiang, as well as officials from Lockheed Martin and China’s Aerospace Times Electronics CO., LTD. (CATEC).

Commander of the Air Defense Forces Yasser El-Touadi met with Deputy Chairman of the Chinese Military Industry Authority Yang Zhigang, Commander of the Cypriot Air and Air Defense Forces Georgios Alexandrou, Commander of the Djiboutian Air Defense Mohamed Hersi, CEO of Lockheed Martin James Benson Hedges, Chairman of MBDA France Eric Béranger, vice president of NORINCO Cheng Hong, and Chairman of Thales Pascal Suarez.
The meetings focused on exchanging views on the latest advancements in armaments and defense systems, as well as exploring ways to enhance military cooperation in multiple areas, thereby strengthening the operational capabilities and combat readiness of the armed forces.
